Paraíso Yoga es en verdad un paraíso para entusiastas de todos los niveles. Narayani, la instructora de yoga nacida en Argentina -y bautizada así por su maestro de yoga- ha impartido por 12 años ya y durante los últimos de 8 de ellos, Sayulita ha sido su hogar. Su estudio se encuentra en una terraza ventilada, tranquila y hospitalaria en Paraíso Yoga, en la calle Playa Azul a unos pasos de la avenida Revolución, al norte del pueblo, cerca del campo deportivo. Aquí, además del espacio para yoga abierto con techo de palma, los huéspedes y estudiantes encontrarán jardines encantadores, sitio para masaje tailandés y cuartos para fisioterapia. Para aquellos que queden atrapados por el verde apacible de sus jardines, el Paraíso también ofrece habitaciones para la estancia por día o semana, con cocina compartida y precios muy razonables.
A pesar de que Narayani es una de las instructoras de mayor experiencia en Sayulita, sus clases son más bien relajadas y sencillas, ya que ella se enfoca en el yoga más como un estilo de vida, una manera de ser, en lugar de un medio de ejercicio físico. Ella domina todos los estilos del yoga -hatha, power y ashanth yoga- y le gusta combinar principiantes y avanzados, pensando que los estudiantes deben disfrutar la clase, en lugar de sufrirla o sentirse intimidados. “Me enfoco en la filosofía completa del yoga; se usa el cuerpo como una herramienta, pero el yoga es realmente para la mente. La práctica física del yoga uno de ocho pasos en el proceso completo. Me gusta que la gente se lleve algo de cada clase que puedan aplicar en su vida diaria -el estar presentes o ser compasivos, por ejemplo. Mis clases son tradicionales, con menos enfoque en el cuerpo; no se trata de verse bien, sino de sentirse bien.”El bienestar también aplica a la sanción, y un buen número de surfers y deportistas regularmente vienen por el valor terapéutico del yoga y los masajes para todo tipo de lesiones y tensión muscular.
Hasta en la llamada power-yoga, que es más retadora, no en el sentido de forzar al cuerpo sino de “conectarlo con la respiración,” dice Narayani. “Las posturas pueden ser fáciles, pero coordinar bien la respiración es el verdadero reto.”
