Hemos escrito varias piezas sobre caminatas y paseos al rededor de Sayulita. Para aquellos curiosos del razonamiento detrás de esto: mientras que el pueblo playero es muy divertido, e ir de compras, cenar, beber, y pasar el rato en la plaza también es divertido, si se queda una semana o más podría necesitar de otras cosas para hacer y lugares nuevos para visitar. Una buena caminata es grandiosa para ver y experimentar el pueblo y la exótica campiña circundante. Esta caminata a Carricitos y todas las demás que hemos publicado son ampliamente recomendables para descubrir la miríada de encantos de Sayulita.
Todas las playas de Sayulita tienen carácter y estilo: el centro es un lugar para una atmósfera fiestera y el surf; la playa norte también es grandiosa, algunas veces para el surf, para el rock n’ roll en el Bar Camarón y liberaciones de tortugas por temporadas en el Bar Miramar; y el largo pedazo norte para caminatas tranquilas. Los muertos ofrece buen snorkeleo algunas veces, y casi siempre tiene aguas calmadas y menos gente que el centro.
Y está playa carricitos. Si realmente quiere alejarse de todo por algunas horas, este es el lugar para usted. Y aunque se siente distante, de hecho está relativamente cerca de Playa los Muertos. Para llegar allí, diríjase al camino de terracería saliendo de los muertos, que corta por el bosque hacia Niños Héroes y la parte del pueblo de Colina del Gringo. Tome a la derecha en la segunda vuelta (la primera vuelta le llevará a otro gema de playa pero no hay acceso público claro) y después de pasar unas entradas de coche y desvíos, pronto se encontrará en la cima de una pequeña colina con un par de opciones. Como sea, los caminos a la derecha y derecho son privados, así que su única opción es ir a la izquierda. Pronto verá algunas señales advirtiendo de un callejón sin salida cercano. Continúe, y en unos momentos encontrará el camino que baja a Carricitos a la derecha. Si pasa una plataforma voladiza del tamaño de un coche al lado de la montaña, ya se pasó la vuelta.
Un paseo de cinco minutos colina abajo a través del bosque seco lo llevan a playa Carricitos. Tiene solo unos cuantos cientos de metros de lado a lado, con cabos rocosos que sirven como soportes. Una gran casa de color coral mira el extremo sur de la playa; esta casa, Otemita, y otra más, al otro lado del camino por encima, Casa Pacífica, ofrecen rentas de hospedaje, así que si les gustó Carricitos por su aislamiento, este podría ser el lugar para usted. Hay otras opciones de renta cerca, pero estas son las más próximas a la playa.
Una pequeña casa abandonada yace sobre la costa en el extremo norte de la playa, pareciendo gallinero para aves, bestias y el ocacional colono usurpador. Ciertamente hay varios pelícanos por aquí, en temporada, probablemente pueda ver a las ballenas saltando en el mar.
Aquí, de frente a mar abierto, las olas rompen ferozmente en la costa, e incluso cuando la crecida es relativamente pequeña, el agua puede ser tosca. Nade con precausión, aléjese de las rocas de cualquier extremo (y la que está semi enterrada en el medio), y tenga cuidado de las aguas revueltas aleatorias. Si no es un nadador experimentado, y/o las olas tienen tamaño o poder, moje sus pies y aléjese.
Lleve agua y bebida si planea pasar el día. No hay restaurantes, bares, o instalaciones. La caminata toma al rededor de una hora. En coche son como cinco minutos desde Playa los Muertos. En bicicleta tal vez quince. Un paseo a caballo sería un buen modo de llegar allí. Pero, como siempre, cuando camina, llegar allí es la mitad de la diversion, ya que le da la oportunidad de admirar la flora y fauna a lo largo del camino.
Carricitos yace justo a pocas calas al sur de Sayulita, y a un millón de kilómetros.
