Where to Eat

Anclote Beach is restaurant row. There are probably a dozen restaurants lined up side by side here, ranging from the moderately priced El Coral, farthest west, to the very pricey Café Des Artistes del Mar, a few doors down. You’ll find great fresh seafood in all of them. There are also a couple of excellent restaurants up off the beach in town. And of course, behind the guarded gates, out at the Four Seasons and The St. Regis, you’ll find several of the finest, and priciest, restaurants in all of Nayarit.

Forming the northwesternmost tip of Bahia Banderas and just a few miles south of Sayulita on the beach, Punta Mita is a world unto itself—or two worlds, rather, one on each side of the fence. Inside the fence, you’ll find a pair of high end, ultra-chic, and very pricey hotels, along with a couple of world-class golf courses. One of them, designed by Jack Nicklaus, ranks among the top ten most beautiful courses in the world; they are both open to the public in the off-season.
